About French Broad Arborists LLC

Along the Broad River the slopes come down steep and green, laurel and hemlock crowding the water until the gorge decides to let a little sun through. French Broad Arborists reads trees in that kind of terrain — checking on an old oak shading a river house, thinning a crown so wind moves through it instead of against it, making the pruning cuts that decide what a tree becomes. Tending a tree's health is patient work here, where roots share the bank with rock and the growing season runs long and wet. Some days the honest answer is removal, and then the job turns into rigging, ropes and a slow lowering on ground no truck will ever reach. Neighbors measure the result by what is left behind: no ruts in the moss, no scarred bark, a canopy that breathes.
