About Billy's Blade Runners

Rain crosses Bladen County in tall gray columns you can watch coming over the fields, and once it passes the grass jumps. Billy's Blade Runners runs the country lots after weather like that — the wide open yards past the town limits, where mowing goes on for acres and the ditch bank has to be handled with a trimmer. Soft ground calls for a lighter pass and a second look at the edges; done right, the lines still come out true. Longleaf pines throw shade into the corners, and the place finishes as one even sheet of green from the road to the tree line. That is the whole job, and it is plenty.
