Bakersville Fix N' Shine

About Bakersville Fix N' Shine

Bakersville sits in a fold of the mountains where the North Toe River does most of the talking, and fog lifts off the water long before the town does. Mowing here means reading a slope before you climb it — high-country yards tilt toward the creek, and every pass has to earn its line. The grass goes down clean, then the edges come back sharp along walks and gravel drives so the whole yard reads finished from the road. By the time the rhododendron on the ridges above town turns loose in June, the lawns below are keeping pace. It is steady work in a place where the light arrives late over the ridge and leaves early, and the mower is out for all of it.
