Earth & Wood

About Earth & Wood

On the bench above Stevensville, late autumn pulls the color out of everything but the ponderosa, and that is when bark and stone start doing the visual work in a yard. Earth & Wood builds around those two materials — mulch and bark laid deep and even, beds edged clean against the turf, rock set where a slope needs holding. Mowing and general lawn care fill in around the built work, keeping the green half of the picture in step with the rest. There is a particular satisfaction in the first morning after fresh bark goes down: the beds read dark, the grass reads bright, and the line between them is one your eye can follow all the way around the house. The work runs through Stevensville, Victor, Florence and the ground in between.
