Cattle Line Fencing & Contracting

About Cattle Line Fencing & Contracting

Wind off the Bitterroot Range can scour a county road bare in one stretch and pile it waist-deep in the next, and the ranch lanes around Stevensville know that better than most. Cattle Line Fencing & Contracting spends its summers stringing fence along those same lanes, so winter finds the crew already familiar with every gate, cattle guard, and low spot that likes to drift shut. The plow work follows the fence lines out past the edge of town, where houses give way to hayfields and the Sapphire foothills rise up gray in the distance. A driveway out there isn't just a driveway — it's the one way in or out until someone clears it, and the crew treats it that way. By midmorning, the lane is open corner post to corner post, and the cattle can get fed.
