The steeple of St. Ignatius Mission is the first thing lit gold on a clear winter morning, catching sun minutes before it reaches the wall of the Mission Mountains standing almost straight up behind it. 2nd Chance Landscape LLC clears the streets and driveways of that small grid of a town while the peaks are still holding the last of the night's shadow, working past the mission grounds and out along the farm roads that spread toward Ninepipe. The wetlands south of town freeze into flat white sheets some winters, a different kind of quiet than the mountains crowding in from the east. Every driveway cleared here gets checked twice against drifting, since wind off that mountain wall can refill a lane within an hour of the last pass. It's careful, repeat work — plow, wait, plow again — done so families and farm trucks alike can get out onto the road.
