Big Sky sits where the Gallatin Canyon opens up beneath Lone Mountain, and the snow there falls deep and stays deep from November clear into spring, which is exactly the kind of winter K&K Landworks was built for. Driveways carved into the mountainside get plowed low and often, so the grade doesn't ice over between storms, and parking areas at the base of the canyon's steep lots get cleared wide enough for the trucks that keep coming through all winter. Walkways get shoveled and sanded, and snow that piles too high against a garage door gets loaded out instead of left to freeze solid. Lone Mountain holds its snow long after the valley floor below has started to thin, and the driveways underneath it get cleared right alongside it.
