Gilly's Lawn Maintenance

About Gilly's Lawn Maintenance

On the Northside the yards are small, the alleys run close, and a freight train still rattles the fence line a few times a day. Gilly's Lawn Maintenance likes those blocks — a lawn you can cut in one long pass, a boulevard strip that needs the trimmer more than the mower, a hedge to square up along the walk. Off the Milwaukee Trail the maples drop everything nearly at once, and for a few weeks in fall the leaf work becomes the main event. Spring is the other bookend: rake out what winter left, cut the beds back, get the first mow down before the dandelions make their move. Old neighborhoods keep their charm as long as somebody keeps the edges honest.
