Backcountry Lawn Service

About Backcountry Lawn Service

Up the Rattlesnake the pavement eventually gives out into gravel, and the yards up there start borrowing their edges from the pines. Backcountry Lawn Service works those in-between properties, where mowed turf meets bunchgrass and nobody wants a hard seam between the two. Late August, with the creek running low and the light stretching gold across the valley by seven, the mowing slows down and the trimming starts to matter more. Cleanup work follows behind it — needles raked out of the corners, beds cut back, the lawn opened up so air can move through it again. Simple work, done attentively, in a corner of Missoula where the town and the mountains share a fence line.
