About Top Notch Tree Works LLC

By midday the snow over the Flathead Valley isn't falling so much as arriving in sheets, blowing in off Flathead Lake and stacking against the fence lines out toward Somers and Bigfork. Top Notch Tree Works LLC works the lake road corridor while it's still coming down, plowing driveways and turnouts between the old cherry orchards before the afternoon commute stacks up behind a drift. The Swan Range disappears into cloud on days like this, and the only proof the mountains are still there is the cold pouring off them into the valley floor. Clearing a rural driveway out here means reading the wind as much as the snow — where it'll pile against a hedgerow, where it'll scour bare — and getting the plow blade angled right the first pass so a second one isn't needed. Come evening, when the squall finally lets up, what's left behind is a straight, packed lane running from the county road to the front door, orchard rows white and still on either side.
