About 406 Landscapes

A number for a name, and in Montana that number covers everything from the Divide to the Dakotas. 406 Landscapes keeps its work closer in — the yards stacked along the Scratchgravel Hills, the lots out in the Helena Valley where mown grass runs right up against sagebrush. Mowing starts early here, before the northwest wind picks up and the light goes flat and white across the bench. What gets left behind is a lawn cut to one even height, trimmer lines clean along fence posts and mailboxes, clippings gathered instead of scattered. It is ordinary work carried all the way to the end, which is the only way it ever looks like anything at all.
