About Shepherd's Garage Inc

Beaverhead County built a good part of its history on sheep, and the wool sheds and stock trucks still working the valley around Dillon end up in Shepherd's Garage Inc's bay more than once a winter after a hard freeze catches an engine unprepared. That same practical read on cold and machinery carries over to the plowing side of the business — a truck that won't start doesn't help anyone, and neither does a lot too icy to walk across to reach it. Storms here often arrive from the southwest, visible a good while off across the open valley before they ever reach town, and this crew uses that visibility to get ahead of a lot rather than react to it. Customer parking and the shop apron get cleared to bare pavement, sanded where the shade holds ice longest. It's the kind of work that keeps a small-town garage running through the months when everyone needs it most.
