About Bridger

Bridger takes its name from Jim Bridger, the mountain man, and the town still keeps a frontier habit of getting on with the day whatever the weather brings. The snow removal outfit called simply Bridger works in that spirit, plowing drives and clearing walks after winter storms in the Clarks Fork valley. On clear mornings the sun comes up pink behind the Pryor Mountains and catches the edges of a freshly plowed lane. The river runs dark between shelves of ice, and the way out to the highway is open and sure. A cleared path is a simple gift in a small farm town, and it makes the whole morning possible.
