Belt sits where the land starts folding up into the Little Belt Mountains, Belt Creek cutting down through canyon walls just south of town before the country opens back out toward Great Falls, and DN Landscape Maintenance works the same properties in winter that they shape the rest of the year. A driveway on the edge of town, close enough to hear the creek running under ice in a cold snap, gets cleared with the same care as a summer flower bed — edges straight, snow pushed to one side instead of scattered across the yard. Wind funnels down out of the canyon on a hard winter day, and drifts pile against north-facing walls and fence lines fast enough to bury a walkway between one afternoon and the next morning. Sidewalks get shoveled to bare concrete, driveways get opened full width, and by the time anyone's headed out for the day, Belt's small streets look like the storm barely touched them. It's careful work in a small canyon town, done the same way in January as in July.
