About Presley Sod

North of Yazoo City the country opens flat and the fields run in long rows toward Eden and Midnight, everything laid out in lines you can read from the road. Presley Sod carries that same instinct into a yard — mowing in even passes, edging the drive and the walk until the border is unmistakable, trimming out the corners, sweeping the concrete clean. April is when it all begins moving here; the Delta greens up in a hurry and a lawn can get away from a person inside of ten days. Staying ahead of that is most of the craft, and the result earns the trouble: a yard with real shape to it, sitting bright against a spring afternoon. That is the work, in town and out along the county roads.
