About Buy the Yard

By July the Starkville afternoons hum — cicadas up in the oaks along Main Street, heat rising off the asphalt, grass growing faster than any calendar can hold. Buy the Yard measures its weeks in exactly that growth, with mowing on a steady rotation, edging at the walks and drive, trimming along fence lines and a clean sweep of every clipping off the concrete. There is real satisfaction in turf cut to one even height, the wheel lines running straight across a lot that fought back the week before. Toward evening the light goes soft over Oktibbeha County and the finished work reads well from the street. That reading is the whole point of the job.
