Lawnmower

About Lawnmower

The name lays out the whole plan. On St. Martin evenings, once the heat finally lets go and the crape myrtles have dropped pink along the gravel drives, Lawnmower is finishing the last pass of the day — deck level, lines running the length of the yard, the trimmer humming out corners no mower can reach. Fireflies start lifting out of the ditch grass about then. It is simple work carried all the way to the end: edges cut, walks blown off, gate latched behind. A lawn kept that way never asks for attention; it just looks right every time you pull in.
