Your Yard is My Yard

About Your Yard is My Yard

October eases into DeSoto County slowly — crepe myrtles turning rust-colored along Church Road, the oaks holding on a while longer, evenings finally cool enough to sit out on the step. Your Yard is My Yard takes its name at face value, tending each Southaven property the way a person tends the one they come home to. That means mowing on a schedule the grass can count on, edging that leaves a true seam between turf and pavement, trimming around fence posts and mailbox pilings, and carrying the leaf litter and clippings off the walks. Out toward Nesbit the lots run wide and open; closer in, the yards are neat squares under pine shade, and both get the same attention. The moment worth staying for is the last one — standing out at the road at dusk, looking back at a yard that finally reads as cared for.
