About MRC Landscape Architecture

A yard is a drawing before it is ever a lawn — grades and sight lines, where the shade will fall in twenty years, which way a person walks when they are not thinking about it. MRC Landscape Architecture starts there, with plans and planting layouts, and follows them into the ground with beds, borders and installation. Oxford gives a designer a lot to work with: the way the old oaks along University Avenue vault the street, the roll of the land, the long green season that lets a planting fill in fast. Mowing, pruning and ongoing maintenance keep the finished thing honest to the drawing. Done right, a landscape stops looking designed at all and simply looks like it belongs there.
