Grass Pro Plus

About Grass Pro Plus

By mid-July the afternoons over New Hope go still and green, the air thick enough to lean on, thunderheads stacking up west toward Columbus Lake like they are deciding something. Grass grows fast in that weather — an inch overnight if the rain has been kind — and Grass Pro Plus keeps a route moving through it, one week to the next, so no yard on the list ever gets away. The mower goes down in long parallel passes, the trimmer takes the fence rows and the base of every crepe myrtle, and the border along the concrete comes back sharp enough to sight down. Then the drive and the porch are cleared off, and the storm can come whenever it likes. There is a real satisfaction in pulling out of a yard that was shaggy an hour ago and leaving it laid flat and combed under that big Mississippi sky.
