Yard Pros

About Yard Pros

New Albany keeps its downtown on Bankhead Street, a few blocks from the ground where William Faulkner was born and the Union County Heritage Museum tells the rest of the story. Yard Pros looks after the lawns on the streets around there — mowing, string trimming, edging along the old sidewalks, hedge and shrub trimming, and leaf cleanup when the season turns. On an autumn afternoon the light goes amber down those blocks, and a freshly cut lawn underneath it looks like a photograph. Older lots have their quirks — roots, uneven ground, tight gates — and working with them rather than against them is most of the skill. A tidy yard on a familiar street is a small contribution to how the whole town feels.
