The Ground Company

About The Ground Company

North of town the lots open up, out where Gluckstadt and Reunion give way to pasture and pine, and evening there arrives as a slow orange line above the treetops. The Ground Company keeps ground like that: mowing wide, trimming fence lines, clearing brush, hauling debris, mulching beds and running seasonal cleanups so a property reads as one cared-for piece instead of a list of chores. There is something steadying in the last pass of the day, deck lifted, the field mowed even to the tree line, cicadas starting up behind you. Acreage forgives nothing and hides nothing; either it is kept or it isn't. Come Monday the whole place looks intentional again.
