Wash A Lawn

About Wash A Lawn

The first warm week of March, the azaleas on the Lumberton side streets go off all at once and the grass remembers what it's for. Wash A Lawn opens the year there — the season's first cut, winter litter cleared out of the beds, borders recut where the edge had gone soft. From spring on it's mowing on a dependable turn, trimming along fences and around trees, and hedges kept back so a house can be seen from the street. Every stop finishes the same way: clippings off the drive and walk, nothing left for the wind to move. Out past the pines you can hear I-59 running, and it's a fine thing to come home off it to a yard already handled.
