Gullick Grass and Garden

About Gullick Grass and Garden

Late summer in Holly Springs belongs to the hummingbirds moving through Strawberry Plains, and to whoever keeps the beds tidy enough to watch them from. Gullick Grass and Garden tends both halves of the name — mowing and string-trimming the open lawn, then working the borders where shrubs meet mulch and the edge wants a hand. Hedges get shaped, spent growth gets pulled, and the blower carries clippings off the walk instead of into the flowers. Hill-country clay holds water strangely after a storm, so the mowing follows the ground's mood rather than a stopwatch. By evening the yard sits squared away, the way a garden should before the light turns gold behind the pines.
