Anderson Gardens

About Anderson Gardens

In February, while much of the country is still locked up in ice, the camellias in Gautier are already opening and the azaleas are counting down to March. Anderson Gardens works in that long coastal growing calendar — planting beds, trimming shrubs, laying mulch, weeding, and keeping the lawn mowed and edged around it all. The sandy loam here drains quick after a rain, which rewards anyone willing to shape a bed properly and keep its border honest. There is real satisfaction in a front walk where the bedline curves clean and the shrubs have been given room to breathe. Season after season the same yards come back fuller, and that is the whole point of the work.
