The American Yard

About The American Yard

In early July the flags go up on Gautier porches and the front yards get looked at more closely than any other week of the year. The American Yard works toward that look all season — even mowing, crisp edges along the drive, trimmed hedges and beds kept clear, with the clippings blown off the concrete before the truck pulls away. A front yard is the part of a house that speaks to the street, and it deserves to say something good. Gulf heat and summer rain make the upkeep constant, but the payoff sits right out front where everyone can see it. Come fall, the same yards get cleaned down and carried into the cooler months in good order.
