About King's Lawn Service Ronderick King, owner

Fog settles into the creek bottoms outside Flora before sunup, and by the time it lifts off the red clay shoulders of the two-lane, the mowers are already running. King's Lawn Service works the yards of this small Madison County town on a weekly rhythm — grass cut to an even height, borders run clean along walks and drives, clippings blown back off the concrete. There is a plain satisfaction in the moment a shaggy lot turns to open, striped green under the pines. In a place where the growing season is long and generous, keeping up with it is most of the art. Summer or the slow brown weeks of winter, the work comes down to showing up and leaving a place looking better than it was found.
