Woodyard

About Woodyard

Autumn comes on gently around Durant: hickory turning yellow above the pines, mornings cool enough that the dew hangs on past eight. Woodyard spends that season clearing leaves from lawns and beds, taking the grass down through its last few passes, and tidying the borders before winter. When the heat returns, the schedule fills again with mowing, string trimming and edging straight through the long green stretch. Nothing is left lying on the walk when the truck moves on. The hills of Holmes County are pretty enough on their own; a well-kept yard just gives them a good frame.
