About Double L Stump Grinding

Barges push slow up the Tombigbee past Columbus, and on the bank side of town the river country throws up cottonwood and willow and sweetgum faster than anybody can keep after it. Double L Stump Grinding takes trees out at the ground and then takes the ground back: stump grinding below grade until the trunk is a pile of chips and the spot goes flat. Tree trimming rounds it out, limbs cut back off fences, sheds and drives. There is a particular pleasure in the last pass of the grinder, when the wheel stops and the hole is just soil again, ready for seed. Lowndes County yards get their square footage back, one stump at a time.
