Lawn Nerd

About Lawn Nerd

There is a kind of person who notices that a stripe pattern runs three degrees off the line of the house, and Lawn Nerd is built for that person. Out in the newer streets between Canton and Gluckstadt, where the lots are square and the sod is young, the work is geometry as much as grass: alternating mowing passes, a groove cut where the walk begins, trimming that makes the fence line disappear into the turf. Cutting height shifts with the season, higher through the worst of July, lower once fall takes the edge off. None of it is fussy for its own sake; the details are simply visible, and they hold all week. Pull into the drive on a Thursday evening and the yard tells you somebody was paying attention.
