About Emmett's Outdoors

Come July the Bogue Chitto runs low and white sandbars show along the bends south of town, and everybody in Brookhaven who can gets to the water early. Emmett's Outdoors starts early for the same reason — a Mississippi summer only gives up a few good hours before the humidity settles like a hand on your back. Mowing, string trimming, weed control and cleanup, done at that hour, and the grass cuts clean while the yard finishes before the day turns heavy. A lawn cut right in high summer holds its color and its lines for a full week, and there is plenty to like about driving away from one. From Ruth to Wesson the yards all run the same deep green, and every one of them is better for being kept.
