About Vida Landscaping

Late in the day the light over the Mississippi Sound goes copper, Deer Island flattens into a dark line offshore, and the breeze finally swings in cool off the water. That is a fine hour to step back and look at a yard Vida Landscaping has just closed out — mulch laid dark in the beds, shrubs shaped, the turf cut and edged so the seam between bed and grass runs as one unbroken curve. Landscaping in Biloxi means working with what the coast hands you: sandy ground, a growing season that stretches most of the year, and plants that want shaping more than coaxing. The mowing and trimming carry the week; the bed work and the mulching are what a place gets remembered for. By dusk the yard just sits there, green and settled, holding the last of the sun.
