Leave it to Leaver

About Leave it to Leaver

October turns the oak and hickory woodlots around West Looney to rust and gold, and then, a few windy days later, most of it lands on the lawn. Leave it to Leaver takes on lawn care through that turn of the year, mowing the late-season growth and clearing fallen leaves before they mat down and smother the grass. Along the roadsides the old Osage orange hedgerows drop their knobby green fruit, and the whole township smells of dry leaves and woodsmoke. When the first hard frost silvers the yards, the lawns they finish go into winter clean and breathing. Come spring, that autumn work shows in grass that greens up evenly.
