Superb Maintenance

About Superb Maintenance

West of Wentzville the land opens out flat and generous, old prairie ground that now carries subdivisions and the long hum of I-70, and on a summer afternoon you can watch a thunderhead build out that way an hour before it arrives. Superb Maintenance works to that clock — mowing, edging and trimming through the bright part of the day, reading the sky, finishing a street before the first fat drops hit the pavement. The humidity here is insistent, the fescue comes on fast after every storm, and it asks to be met. There is something worth stopping for in the drive back past a row of yards all cut the same direction, the light going gold across them out toward Quail Ridge Park. Come autumn the same route fills with leaves, and clearing them is work worth doing slowly. A yard kept steady across the year is a promise kept one week at a time.
