Storms reach Weldon Spring from the west, climbing the river valley with plenty of warning and no manners at all — by September there is usually a sycamore limb or two down across somebody's back lawn. TJ's Contracting is good for the morning after: branches gathered, the litter of leaves and bark cleared off the turf, mowing picked back up as though nothing had happened. Yard work in eastern Missouri is part upkeep and part cleanup, and the two are not really separate skills. There is a particular satisfaction in handing a property back looking calm again. The weather here will do what it wants; a lawn does not have to wear it for long.
