All About Lawns

About All About Lawns

This is spring-fed country: cold water surfacing out of the hills near Welch and holding its color straight through the year, feeding the Current River below. Mornings begin with mist off the water and fog caught in the hollows until the sun finally clears the ridge. All About Lawns keeps yards through those seasons, mowing, trimming and edging on ground that is mostly rock with grass growing on top of it. Property lines out here mean gravel drives, oak shade and long open stretches, each asking for a different pass. A lawn cut even and edged clean stands out sharply against all that wildness, and that contrast is the pleasure of the work.
