The roads above Sunrise Beach drop and switch back hard on their way down to the water, cut into bluffs that keep the lake hidden until the last turn. Lakewide Hauling and Excavating runs those grades at the edges of daylight, when ice forms first on the shaded curves the sun never quite reaches. A loaded truck clears the steepest pitches before dusk locks them in glass, then comes back for the long private lanes that branch off toward the coves. Loose snow gets hauled clear of turnarounds too tight to push it aside, opening room for a truck to back a boat trailer down once spring arrives. It's a town built on grades and water, and the work follows both.
