Ryan Lawn & Tree

About Ryan Lawn & Tree

November mornings on Commercial Street begin with frost silvering the brick storefronts and the sun taking its time over the north side. Ryan Lawn & Tree works the tail of the season there, when a lawn's last cut matters more than most of the ones before it. Leaves come off the turf, the grass goes down to its winter height, the edges are recut, and the walks are left bare. There is a stillness to those late routes — cold hands, low light, the mower loud in a quiet neighborhood. A yard closed out properly in November is the first good thing about the following April.
