Lawn Mowing

About Lawn Mowing

September mornings at Snow Hill start heavy with dew, and the first cut of the day throws a wet ribbon of clippings until the sun climbs. The name says exactly what the work is: Lawn Mowing, done on a schedule, with trimming around posts and beds and a pass to clear the concrete after. No mystery to it, just a yard that looks better at five o'clock than it did at eight. Missouri fescue answers to a regular cut and a sharp blade, and it shows the difference inside a couple of weeks. There is a kind of pride in plain work carried all the way out to the edges.
