Terra-Scape

About Terra-Scape

The bluffs above the Missouri River carry the Katy Trail along their edge north of town, and the land underneath Saint Charles rises and falls more than it looks like it should for a river town — low along the water, then climbing fast toward the newer subdivisions. Terra-Scape reads that terrain block by block, since a slope that sheds snow easily on one side of a street can hold it stubborn on the other, shaded by the rise itself. The crew's work follows the shape of the ground more than the shape of the storm: which driveway sits in a natural bowl, which one drains clear on its own. It's patient, deliberate work suited to land this uneven, more mapping than plowing some mornings. Getting every property level and clear, regardless of what the bluff underneath it is doing, is the quiet satisfaction in it.
