Spring Green

About Spring Green

April comes to north county all at once — redbuds along the old Florissant streets going magenta inside a week, and every lawn suddenly two shades brighter than it was on Friday. Spring Green works those yards through the season that follows: mowing on a set schedule, feeding the turf, treating the weeds that crowd in first, and opening tight clay ground so the roots can go down. The best part of a Tuesday is the last look back at a finished yard — the drive edged, the clippings blown off the sidewalk, nothing left behind but the smell of cut grass. Summers here are long and sticky, and a lawn only stays even if somebody keeps showing up. So they keep showing up.
