Rolla Ice & Snow Removal

About Rolla Ice & Snow Removal

Ice sits harder on Rolla's sidewalks and lots than fresh snow ever does, holding through a whole sunny afternoon in the shadow of a building before it finally lets go. Rolla Ice & Snow Removal works the walkways and parking areas around town before 8 a.m. classes start up the hill at Missouri University of Science and Technology, salting the spots that freeze first — shaded stairwells and building faces the sun never quite reaches this time of year. It's exacting work, more chemistry than shoveling some mornings, knowing which surface needs a second treatment and which one's already safe. A campus that runs on foot traffic can't afford a slick patch by a doorway, and that's the whole reason this crew is out before the sun is properly up. By the time the first lecture starts, Rolla's walkways are doing exactly what they're supposed to — holding steady instead of sliding.
