Hansen's Tree Service

About Hansen's Tree Service

Just outside Republic, the ground dips into the creek bottoms around Wilson's Creek, where tall prairie grass holds a hard frost long into the morning even after the roads themselves have cleared. Hansen's Tree Service works the properties along that lower ground first, since cold air pools there and ice forms deeper than it does up on the ridges toward town. It's quiet work in a quiet corner of Greene County — no crowds, just a driveway, a barn, maybe a horse watching from a frost-rimmed pasture fence. Clearing that kind of property right means reading where the water moves in spring and where it freezes hardest in January, and working with that instead of against it. A cleared drive out along the creek bottom is a small thing against all that open ground, but it's the thing that gets a family to the highway and into Republic.
