Stand anywhere near C. Lee Kenagy Park on a June weekend and you can hear half a dozen mowers going at once — it is Raytown's warm-weather soundtrack. Mow Your Grass Off adds its share, cutting, string-trimming and edging yards on the tidy grid of streets spreading out from Blue Ridge Boulevard. The aim is simple and old-fashioned: a lawn that reads cared for from the curb, with a sharp line at the sidewalk and no ragged tuft left around the mailbox post. Grass grows hard here from April into October, so the work runs on a rhythm — same day, same route, nothing skipped. Raytown comes first, with Independence, Grandview and south Kansas City close behind.
