About R & S Services LLC

Purdy's hills still carry the shape of the orchards that once made this stretch of Barry County known for apples, rows of old trees giving way over the decades to pasture and dairy ground that rolls harder than the flatter prairie farther north. R & S Services LLC works those slopes in winter the way the orchard men once worked them for fruit — reading which hillside catches the morning sun early and which one stays shadowed and icy past noon. Driveways here rarely run straight; they curve along the contour the orchards were planted on, so the plow works them in matched curves rather than force a straight line where the land won't allow one. Dairy operations need their lanes open before first milking no matter the hour the storm quit, so those jobs come first, regardless of what's next on the list. Long before the sun climbs high enough to touch every south-facing slope on its own, most of Purdy's hillside drives are already down to bare, dry ground.
