Two Men And A Mower

About Two Men And A Mower

October in downtown Wentzville smells like leaves and cold coffee. Pearce Boulevard wakes up early, the rail line still runs through town the way it did when the place was laid out beside it, and the yards on those side streets are small, square and particular. Two Men And A Mower takes them one at a time — mow, edge, trim, blow the walks clear, move on. Two sets of hands make short work of a Saturday. The pride is in the last pass: the line where turf meets sidewalk cut sharp enough to read, the porch steps clear, nothing left behind but stripes. By dusk the block looks looked-after, and that is the whole point.
