About Marshall's Lawn Service, Inc.

October mornings around Pleasant Hill open under a low fog that sits on the section-road corn and burns off about the time the first mower fires. Marshall's Lawn Service, Inc. runs the fall stretch hard: final mows, leaf removal, edging back the walks that summer grew over, and clearing the beds before the ground goes hard. A maple in a Cass County front yard can drop its whole year in three days, and there is a particular pleasure in handing that lawn back plain and open and green. Trimming close around the mailbox post and along the fence line. Clearing the drive with the blower, then standing at the curb a second to check it. That is the whole of it, and it is enough.
