About Turf Spartan

A June thunderstorm rolls through La Monte and leaves Pettis County washed, steaming and growing an inch overnight. Turf Spartan meets that head-on: mowing once the ground firms up, string trimming the fence lines and culverts, edging drives back to a hard line, blowing the walks clear. Wet years out here reward stubbornness more than anything else — the yards that look sharp in July are the ones somebody kept after through a soggy June. Cutting into a heavy, rain-fed stand of grass and leaving it flat, even and banded is a genuinely good feeling. The storms will come back; so will the mower.
