Lawn Buddy

About Lawn Buddy

Fog off the Mississippi tends to sit low in Oakville's river hollows long after the rest of south St. Louis County has cleared, and Lawn Buddy starts those winter mornings working blind through it, plow lights cutting a soft cone through the gray. The neighborhoods here climb the bluffs above Cliff Cave Park, so driveways pitch and curve instead of running flat, and a skim of ice on a slope gets treated like the hazard it is — salted heavy, cleared to bare concrete, checked twice. Down toward Jefferson Barracks the wind off the river can scour a lot clean in one spot and bury it in the next, so no two properties get the same pass. By midmorning, when the fog finally burns off the water, the driveways along the bluff already look dry underfoot. That's the standard: nothing left for the sun to finish.
