About Hemme Excavating, LLC

Oak Grove sits far enough east of Kansas City that the interstate noise fades into cornfields, and Hemme Excavating, LLC works the kind of long rural driveways that wind past grain bins before they ever reach a paved road. Snow moves differently out here — it drifts across open fields until it piles against fence rows and slopes, burying the last hundred yards of gravel a homeowner needs cleared before daylight. The crew brings the same equipment they'd use to grade a building site, blades wide enough to open a lane in one pass rather than three. By the time frost burns off the harvested fields around town, the driveways along the old road into Oak Grove are already down to gravel, packed hard and even. There's a plainness to that kind of work that suits Oak Grove — nothing fancy, just a clear way home.
